Started as a regular basic coyote ACR. Stripped all the barrel assembly
parts off and ditched the 5.56 barrel. Used an Adams Arms 5.45x39 16"
carbine barrel. Chopped off the end and threaded it .5x28. Notched it
for the op rod support, red-drilled the taper pin holes for the gas
block, shortened and turned down the op rod, and opened up the bolt to
accept the larger round. Hand cycling the rounds were getting stock in
the chamber and would only eject by wrapping the charging handle with a
rubber mallet. Took it out today to shoot it and it worked perfectly the
first mag. The stars must have been aligned because of all my odd
custom builds of ARs, H&K's, and different guns they never fire
correctly right out of the gate. As far as i know it;s the first one out
there.

That is sweet viper, the up most in cool , gives me hope for my conversion ambitions. I'd like to do one of the 7.62x39 / 6.5 conversions on mine but the fact that Bushmaster / Remington are stonewalling there customers and not releasing the parts we need to get it done is killing me.

Did you use regular AR 5.56 mags?

I especially like the fact that the major selling point of the ACR (i.e. the "A" in its name) is something that you had to provide yourself.

Still super cool, though.  Bushmaster really needs to get more barrel kits out for these guns.

I have heard certain pmags work by cutting the front of the follower. Tried it and they worked for a little bit then left them loaded an they stopped working. I use ASC 5.45 mags
