I want to use a Vltor 10" VIS Upper with a DD 10.3" barrel and still be able to mount a AAC M4-2000 suppressor.

Does anyone know if there is enough clearance between the suppressor and the rail from experience, or must I use the 9" VIS rail instead?

I just called Vltor to see if they have run across this configuration and got the answer from them.  You cannot run a 10.3" barrel on a 10" VIS and still have clearance for a suppressor.  It must be a 9" VIS or shorter.

They have a great pic of this on their Facebook page of a 10.5" barrel in a 10" VIS next to a 9" VIS and the 10" swallows the entire barrel.

Oh well, do to the slightly over-length specs of the VIS upper I still get the effect I was looking for with the 9" VIS.  Boy that would have been a costly mistake.
