Anyone care to share pics of where they marked/engraved their MP5 SBR?

Getting it done this weekend and I'm not sure where I want to put the engraving.

thanks

I would go  with the top of the receiver, right above the channel where the sliding stock slides in and out, or of you don;t have the sling clip on the magwell, then there. Someone will come soon to correct me.

Is that allowable per ATF reg's?  Since it would be covered up sometimes?

I believe the regs state, or ATF's opinion is that the engraving needs to be done in a place that does not require disassembly. Stock channel fits the bill here, as it only takes an extension of the stock to expose the engraving.

MFG's who did MG conversions (Stemple and Norrell are two that I've heard of, if I'm remembering right) used to engrave their info on the grip "tang" of an AR lower. The engraving was hidden when the pistol grip was installed. That would not meet regs, as it would require diassembly to expose the engraving.

You're good to go in the stock channel. In fact, mine's at Ident getting engraved in that very place!

This is what I would do.
I contacted Ident, they said they could mark it inside the channel.
I believe ATF wording says can be read without having to disassemble, so just retracting the stock should be OK.
If you were gonna use a fixed stock also, you would need to make sure the markings were visible with the fixed stock attached.

I believe that particular ATF opinion was published in 2004-ish.

There were a lot of guns that were made and registered prior to then.
