I am looking to convert my Ruger 10/22 into a SBR like the one i saw in http://www.agparms.com/product.php?productid=16164&cat=262&page=1
This is the stock I'd be using as my main component. http://www.agparms.com/product.php?productid=16164&cat=262&page=1 Is there any legal issues I would come across with this being such a short rifle? What is this I hear about needing a stamp or something from Gov. for a SBR? Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Texas is a Class 3 friendly state, you should have no problems but there are some hoops to jump through as well as a $200 tax for the privilege and a waiting time of usually a few months.
There are a few options, these forums should help you with what you're looking for: General Class 3 forum: http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=6&f=17 SBR forum: http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=6&f=51 |

So the basis of what I need to do is,
1 Fill out paperwork 2 Send in paperwork with $200 3 Have my receiver engraved 4 receive "stamp" 5 Have fun shooting So basically I can have a fully functioning 10/22 SBR for $200 more? Where should I send my barrel to get it shortened? I want it as short as I can go, should I go for 4" or 5"? What are the benefits for each one? Thanks for the help |
