Hi all,
I'll be purchasing an RRA 10.5" upper within the week. To keep things simple, I would like to know if there is a barrel extension (flash hider) that I can solder on to keep me in the legal "green area" and allow me to shoot it while I wait for the appropriate paperwork to clear? I have a Spike's Tactical 6" fake can laying around, but don't know how I would solder it. Thanks for the help.

A barrel extension & FH are two totally different items. You fake can will work though as long as it's perm attached.

According to ATF's NFA Handbook, Section 2.1.3:

"Acceptable methods for permanently attaching a device to a rifle barrel are deep penetrating, full fusion, gas or electric steel seam welds of high temperature silver solder. Depending on the dimensions of a particular barrel it may also be possible to permanently affix a muzzle attachment by drilling a blind hole through the attachment and into the barrel wall. A steel pin that is flush with or below the outside diameter of the attachment is then inserted and the hole welded closed."
