What's the best method for removing the pin that holds the front sling mount under the front sight?  I'm sure I could slowly dremel the pin on the non-head end, but I'm wondering if it would be easier to just punch it out?  If properly supported underneath, it looks like a small punch or nail could be used to just punch the pin through.  Can someone confirm this please before I give it a whack and mess something up.  Thanks.

judicious use of a pin punch is how I removed mine.

Use a flat file and file off the mushroomed end of the pin.  Once removed, use a punch to finish the job.
