Hey all!

Tried searching the place for information on a question I have in building a 300 AAC Black Out.

I'm wanting to build with a floating hand guard. I have the upper and barrel so far. It's in the 16 inch length. I would like to get a guard that will pretty much cover full length.

I'm under the impression that floating guards have their own special barrel nut. I assume this is NOT the generic barrel nut I have seen for cheap?

If so, is it automatic that the guard I pick up will come with the proper barrel nut?  If not, is there a generic nut that they tend to work with?

I'm not in a rush and not stuck into a direction. I simply want to build a reliable 300BO for deer hunting.

Thanks in advance,
BuckDuck

Typically, Free Float tubes come with their own nut.
