First post here, looking for a little guidance on my savage model 10 PC chambered in 223. I have had feeding issues with this gun since day one when using hard nosed bullets suck as the sierra matchkings and bergers. When using hornady vmax or other tipped bullets the gun seems to feed just fine. I recently upgraded the gun with CDI bottom metal with the accuracy international 10 round magazines. It appears I am still having the same issue feeding hard nosed bullets especially when using longer length hand loads. The bullets exit the magazine go up the feed ramp and hit low on the face of the barrel and just miss chambering.  It seems like the feed ramp is a ways back from the barrel. If I back off the overall length a bit and use tipped bullets like the vmax the gun cycles just fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I might try to fix this issue? I would like to be able to shoot the longer hard nosed bullets as they are the most accurate out of this rifle.

Thanks in advance for any help
