I almost hate to admit that I almost like the cocking serrations.  But the overdone "melt" looks terrible.

The close up photos make me think the gun is a rescued junker, but dang it's possible to just go too far, even with a good idea.

They don't look to bad but he needs to get rid of all the old serrations if he's going to make it look good.  Maybe add another 1/2" of them. Now the front looks like crap.

There are close up photos in the Gunbroker ad.  I think the gun was mil surp junker that someone tried to salvage.  Restraint was not in the guy's vocabulary.
