Howdy,

I plan on doing some mods to my Colt Sporter Target upper.
I plan on taking the barrel out of the A2 receiver and putting it in a Daniel Defense Big Hole flattop upper for use on my Sporter 2 lower (If I can find a large hole upper). I would also like to switch the front sight base to an F marked with a bayo lug.

What are the chances the taper pin holes won't line up in the front sight base correctly, causing an offset in the front sight base from one side to the other? Should I keep the post? Never checked to see if it was smaller than a normal one.

Thanks!

The front sight base is individually drilled to pin onto the barrel. There is very little chance of another front sight base lining up with the previously drilled barrel.

It makes better economic sense to sell the barrel you no longer want, and purchase a barrel having the features you want. Folks pay for Colt parts that have not been messed with.

An offest take-down pin adapter will allow you to mount a large hole Sporter lower receiver to a standard hole upper receiver. Less expensive in the long run and gives you the ability to swap other upper receivers to that lower :)
