Who sells a single caliber pilot set for .44spc/mag that will fit a muzzle crown cutter (I also need the cutter and T-handle)

I bought a revolver about 8 months ago and noticed a ding in the damn muzzle (I did not cause this damage as it is slightly relieved and the gun has been a holster queen) I did not notice it until I cleaned it after a range session...

it looks like it happened before the barrel was installed..

a S&W Performance Center (it also came with cracked grips) YAY!!! (replaced by S&W)

so I want to re-crown it...

but I can not find anything other than a whole kit that costs $200+

any info is appreciated

I'm assuming that you're not doing this on a lathe then?

I was going to inquire what type of crown you wanted and then would have suggested just making your own crowning bit from some HSS, but never mind on that.

nope this was not for a target gun and if you go slow and use a good pilot the hand held one works fine...it actually came out a lot better than I expected...no "hand chatter" either... so win win...

if it had not worked that was my next step...take the barrel off and do it on a lathe..
