First I wont to apologize for now knowing the techinical terms for different parts on this gun..........
I inherited a Franchi 12 ga semi auto shotgun some years ago and it has never feed/loaded right. I can only load/put a shell in if I am holding down the button on the side of the receiver to push the shell in, then when I pull back the bolt to load the shell into the chamber it will not come out unless I push in the button again. After I shoot it and there is another shell in it will not automatically reload the next shell I have to push the button in for it to release it into the chamber. It is very aggravating! I have cleaned the weapon several times and it shoots fine other than this. other info on it: S.P.A. Luigi Franchi Brescia Made in Italy 48/AL 12 Ga (on the receiver) Anyone with any help would be great! Or maybe a parts diagram of the receiver or something...... |

Sorry, I'm just not up on the Franchi.
What I can offer is the owner's manual: http://stevespages.com/pdf/franchi_48al.pdf And an exploded view: http://www.stevespages.com/ipb-franchi-automatic.html Franchi is now owned by Benelli and they do repairs for the Model 48. Check the website fro details on how to contact them and/or send the gun in for repair. Look under Support and then the FAQ's. http://www.franchiusa.com/ |
| I was given the task of taking one apart, cleaning it, and diagnosing why it would'nt fire. (work at a local range and am working with the 'smith as an apprentice). After field stripping it, cleaning it and making sure the friction ring was installed correctly for low brass it worked great. Load the first round manually, the remainder in the magazine tube. The barrel will move back into the receiver and trip the shell stop to allow the next round to feed. Make sure you have the friction ring set correctly and do not oil the outside of the tube where teh sping and friction rings are. |
