I don't know where else to put this on the forum, but I was just let go from my current job from what I feel is discrimination with my current military obligations. That being said, i am now with more time on my hands than anything and the chance of finding a job that will be ok with me being gone for 3 months in March for my A school is slim at best. So I am asking any Washington state gunsmiths on the west side of the mountains if they are busy enough to take on a volunteer to assist them. I'd like to learn a thing or two and help out in the shop if needed until I leave in March. Just need to keep myself busy! Sorry Mods, I know this is not the right spot but figured I would get the best response here!

Not to sure what your wanting to learn but I would put Benchmark & R Bros on the list of companys/smiths that do awesome work for precision Rifles. Maybe Oly Arms for 1911's? I think I read somewhere he is a one man shop but is one hell of a 1911smith. Maybe Dave at Southridge arms, I think he works on 1911s as well. I am sure there are others but these are the ones that come to mind right off the bat.

Here's a mentor, but he may be looking for someone that is dedicated to the work:
