I have a spare FSB and an Ar with a 16'' barrel that i want to put it on, but heres the problem... I have a rifle length rail system on it and a low pro gas block so the front sight needs to go at the end of the barrel. Now, im aware i can buy rail mounted irons and what not but i specifically want the FSB attached so im trying to find a way to do it.

So my question is, is there a way to attach it to the end of my barrel without drilling holes for the pins? I want it attached to basically the very end of the barrel where it is not ment to be but i do not want to drill holes in my barrel because if i ever want it off then i have those random holes there. So essentially is there a way to modify it to make it attach to where its not suppose to be attached?

I was thinking something along the lines of adapting it to clamp on to the barrel but i thought some of you might have a good idea on how to do it? Thanks!

Easy cure-
Any competent Smith or machinist can turn sleeves/bushings to make up for the difference in the diameters of the barrel/FSB although you may want to open up the ID of the FSB to get a thick enough wall on the sleeve. Green LocTite the sleeve/bushing in the FSB. Open up the holes for the taper pins and tap them to take short set screws- put the FSB in place and mark where the set screws will touch the barrel. Grind or mill a very tiny flat for the screws to register against in the 4 places. Install the FSB and snug the screws against the flats you created. Once you have fired the weapon and make sure the FSB is true and vertical remove one screw at a time and Loc-Tite them.
What you are basically doing is a National Match mod to the FSB, the only difference is the sleeve/bushings to make up  the difference in the OD of the barrel and ID of the FSB.
