Some of this is essential material to have on hand in the shop, and some is entertaining reading. Some of this stuff has been posted in other threads here. I think it's important enough that it deserves its own thread.

Machinery's Handbook Must have book in any shop. If your having trouble sleeping, read it like a book.

Machinist's Bedside Reader 1-3 Great reading. Lots of tips, and some good stories.

Gunsmith Kinks 1-4  I have only browsed the books in this series. At the top of my list, of books to buy.

Engineer's Quick Reference Calculator Used these daily when I was doing Solidworks design.

Starrett tap drill chart. I can't find these online anywhere. Starrett Catalog No. is 1317, and the EDP No. is 56607. Should be able to get them from any Starrett dealer, for a couple bucks, or free. I just called the local Starrett rep and they give them out to students.

Please add to this list. I know there is more out there. I only listed the stuff that I'm familiar with.

As stated in another thread, "Machinist's Ready Reference"  ––more useful on a DAILY basis than Mach Handbook, nowhere near the info, of course.

Cartridges of the World has been an invaluable resource.  Also an exploded view book of common guns

Jack First books are great, they have a ton of exploded drawings with part numbers.

Brownells, Encyclopedia of Modern Fireams is great for older guns.

All the Gun Digest disassembly manuals.

All the books by Jerry Kuhnhausen.

Avoid the NRA disassembly manuals, they suck at least the few I've seen.

The Gun Digest, Jerry Kuhnhausen and Jack First Books are the main one's I use at school.
