Can't address the lighting model specifically, but having owned two SAA clones and an 1873 Lever gun in 44-40, I can attest to the very good quality of the Uberti line. The fit and finish of mine and all of the other Uberti guns I have dealt with have always been rock solid.
IIRC, the original Colt Lightining mechanism was considered to be delicate and not the best design. If Uberti copied it I would have to assume that modern metalurgy would offset that. If they modernized it then likely less of an issue. I would suggest you go to the Cowboy Action Shooting Society website for metric ton more info from a lot more owners. |
