I realized my 2006 production "Second Generation" TP9 DS ARMS import TP9 had two important differences between the TP9 in the new MAC video.

First, the bolt release is now has a round profile versus the more traditional pistol style release.

Second, ambi magazine release. Nice.

Third, stock right side rail for brass catcher.

Fourth, stock ghost ring rear sight versus pistol style.

Fifth, which is more accessories include than firearm, the dope MP9 magazine loader comes in the box.

So as for the TP9 pistols imported into the USA, does that make 3 generations? The original import of threaded barrel TP9s would be 1st gen, DS ARMS trilug 2nd, current B+T 3rd gen. It's great to see more guns being sold that use the TMP style magazine. Hopefully the price goes down when the "mystery manufacturer" picks up production of the P26. Hopefully the Swiss sold it to a country that can export to the USA.

Who else wishes they got more of those $45 mags at DS ARMS?

Was your cheaper than $1,800? If so do you think the upgrades are worth that cost?

$975+$25 transfer. Inflation plus the Swiss Franc play heavily into the current price.
Is it worth $1800 now? I think so but they need to offer it in the NATO PDW upgraded version for that price. I haven't shot the new model so I can't comment on the mag release and bolt lock.
And yes, it takes a proprietary can that is also expensive. I have heard so many people bitch that the can is so expensive and it isn't as comfortable to shoot as a full size suppressed MP5 and they simply cannot fathom having a suppressor dedicated to a single weapon. I personally was amazed at the Rotex I fired. The TMP was designed by Steyr to be drawn and fired in a defensive role. Keep your expectations in line with that and you won't be disappointed.
The Uzi Pro is the only comparable weapon imported currently, IMHO. MP5s are great to shoot, but, even the K isn't near as easy to carry as the TP9.
Aimpoint worked with B+T to create the micro for the MP9. They are typically sold that way elsewhere making them even more expensive.
You get what you pay for.

My teep is a first gen DSA and as I understand it the second gen DSA guns are the most common.

If you want to get nerd technical the true "first gen" is the Steyr SPP, which as I understand it had two different generations as well.

I just wish they'd bring in the baby TP9 that comes in 380. Those little guys look sick.

Pretty much all B&T dealers. The price has taken a hike over the past few years though. I got mine through GMP parts, but Copper Custom and a few other shops have them as well.

The abandoned SPP based carbine that recently came up for sale would make three Steyr generations! Wonder how reliable it was with all that barrel mass rotating.

I saw in YouTube video that B+T had an MP9 at the last big shows with a modified topcover. The mounting rail was raised along the length of the topcover and it appeared to have integrated folding emergency sights.

So here is another improvement on the MP9 Platform I noticed on a trade show video and is now on B+T's instagram.  (I know this isn't breaking news but FADALdude doesn't instagram)

They made a new top cover that is side cocking and eliminates the AR style charging handle out back.  They tout it as having much better control over gas getting in your face shooting suppressed.

But, Jesus Christ, they decided to machine it all out of billet aluminum in typical B+T style.   I'm guessing $499.99

Did anyone else notice the bolt carriers on the NATO MP9 versions are now silver in color?  The MP9s shoot pretty dirty with that suppressor so maybe to ease cleaning?

B+T instagram

ETA:  Does anyone know if the new NATO safety can be retrofit to older frames or are the NATO frames modified?

Pulled this out today and took a quick pic.
