| I have a QC10 Glock Large Frame lower in the SbR process right now. Has anyone built one for 45acp that's reliable/safe and short? Specifically looking for an upper and buffer guidance. Barrel length no more than 7" would be nice too |

They already built one I'm beginning to see these more and more, and for some reason I kinda want one. Especially since they just lowered their prices. |

They already built one I saw a bunch of these on a table at the Pasadena gun show this morning. The one bright point of the show. |

Wow. Lots of advice on what to choose even though you've already chosen. Almost feels like GD in this thread as far as reading comprehension goes.
Go into the AR forums and hit up the Pistol Caliber/Rimfire forum in there. A couple of guys have put a lot of time into .45 acp in AR uppers. I have an older (~10 years?) Olympic Arms pistol length upper. I haven't put a ton through it, but have increased now that they've released their 45 mags that have 15 round capacity. It's blowback, but in the AR Pistol Caliber/Rimfire forum there are some gas operated uppers. |

Perhaps my wording was confusing, but I'm really not seeing any choices being offered for uppers in this thread. I'm looking for some company that has successfully built a Short-Barrel 45 ACP AR-Style Upper. I didn't think the request was that cryptic? "AR-style .45 ACP SBR" for your title might have made your intent a little more clear from the outset, but anyone who actually read your OP before replying should have had no question about what you were asking. I really don't understand all of the off-topic replies here.

Considering that at no point until then did you say you specifically wanted an AR upper, yes. It was not only cryptic, but you did not even provide the info needed to tell you what you wanted. You can't expect people to give you an answer to a question you didn't even actually ask. Olympic arms is about the only mass produced one out there. Other than that some smaller ones like Bazooka Bros and Integral have made them. |

I apologize for not reading your thread more carefully, however why would you have the lower and be in the process already if you at least didn't have an idea where you
were going with it? I think that's what threw me. I would opt for whatever Quarter Circle recommends, if it was tested on a certain upper to be reliable that's what I'd buy. |

The Oly Arms upper is blow back in operation so you can cut the 16" barrel down to whatever length you want. I don't know if they offer shorter barrels as pistol uppers or not. I don't think they offer the shorter length uppers/bbls. I SBR'd both of my pistol-caliber Oly ARs (both 9mm, not .45, and both using unmodified Glock mags) and they both run like champs, no issues whatsoever. |

They already built one This; get a Vector Kriss SDP and SBR it. |

I cut mine down to 7.5" and had the barrel profiled to .75" since it comes as a very heavy straight 1" tube (IIRC). |

I should have added mine has been absolutely reliable and fun. I'm using an unaltered upper on a CavArms lower with Greasegun mags |

BARREL:
OP why not purchase a 45 ACP barrel from Quarter Circle 10? They offer short barrels that are ready to run. UPPER: Build your own. Use any normal upper or if you are worried about ejection problems you could purchase an upper that has an enlarged opening for .458 Socom / .50 Beowolf. I really haven't found anyone that makes an assembled AR-45 upper for any sane price. With a pistol caliber upper you only have to push the barrel in and tighten the barrel nut, there is nothing to line up as you don't have to use a gas block or gas tube. They are very simple to make and you will save money. BOLT: The bolt shows available on the QC10 website as well but "expected to ship within 1 - 4 weeks". I'm not sure if they have actually shipped any yet. When the QC10 GLF first came out they didn't list a bolt for it. I called to inquire about one and they referred me to Rudy at Macon Armory. |

Also look at RMW XTREME Ron does 5.5" DI 45 AR uppers and they run great here is a link to one of his test.RMW XTREME DI 45 [email protected] |
