Good afternoon all. I've had a Vector Arms (full size) UZI for years now, I love shooting it since its quiet, cheap to shoot, and reliable (with the proper ammo so it can blowback).

This upcoming gun show I plan on picking up a new grip on my AR, a 7.62x39 can of ammo, some 5.56, and some UZI mags. I've saved about $250 for gunshow goodies and ill have some extra cash that I'd like to invest in the UZI.

My question is what do you reccomend? I'd love a new fore grip but couldn't dig much up for research. I only have one 25rd mag so I plan on pickin up some 32 rounders. I'd like to make his gun comfortable for the GF to shoot since its quiet with low recoil. Finding ammo isn't a problem (I never see the bulk 9mm sold out like the .223).

Thanks for the input!

Just get the mags. Unless you're using it as your primary HD weapon, you won't need a light or a RDS. So stick with the mags while they're cheap.

Magazines and a sight adjustment tool are the biggest things I can suggest.

To make it more enjoyable for the GF, you might want to get a fixed wood stock for it. Replacing the folding stock with the detachable wooden stock will make the weapon non-NFA compliant with the ATF, or so I have heard, but uzigunparts.com sells a kit to make the buttstock non-quck detach, and NFA compliant.

I hope you don't mind comments from an IMI uzi owner

I agree with others about mags, if the election goes the wrong way, mags will likely go up.

Definitely get a Lula loader/unloader, it really helps with loading mags, especially 32 rounders.

If you don't have a sling, you can get one cheap at the gun show and it also makes it easier to shoot the uzi.

If you see a barrel shroud at a good price you should get it. The shroud protect the barrel and keep from
getting burned when the barrel heats up. I picked up a vented shroud a couple years back and it makes
the the uzi nicer to shoot.

enjoy your uzi

Awesome, thanks guys!

After doing some Googling I think my choice is good but for first ham experience does Winchester white box do well for the blow back system? I know underpowered rounds lead to cycle failures so Id like to make sure I'm good to go on my ammo choice.

I haven't bought any WWB in a while, but all of it I have shot through my Vector(1000+ rounds) has functioned just fine and been pretty accurate. The only ammunition that gave me functioning problems, personally, was a batch of Wolf(WPA) that was binding up in the mags, and a couple of boxes of PMC from the 80's that were seriously on the weak side.

The Lula is a great thing to have. As much for it's ability to quickly unload a mag without damaging your ammo, as for it's ability to load one.

Look for IMI mags that typically have the star of David on them.  I suggest the 32 rounders over the 25 rounders.  The reason is the 25 rounders are lap welded where the 32's are butt welded.  Hard to describe without looking at both.  The end result is the 25 rounders are just a little shorter for bullet length and longer bullets can hang up in the magazine.  32 rounders typically run flawlessly.

Does it have that crazy 16" barrel?
If so spend 200 and make it a SBR
Best bang for the buck in addition to 32 rd mags

Yep, take my word for it too.
