Welp this little project has been a bit long in the tooth. Finally got the stamp back about two months ago and started ordering my accessories. Had an Uzi "T" lug fabricated and installed so that I could mount a CAA rail without having to silver solder/weld it on. Grabbed a new production uzi stock from title II arms, but found out it was not machined correctly. This is a lip on the rear receiver that does not all the stock mounting plate to lay flat against it with the configuration that it was manufactured to, so the predrilled holes would not line up with the receiver. So I had to grind away at the mounting plate to remove enough material to clear that lip, then tap and thread the receiver for mounting.
The stock was worrying me a bit when I first installed it because it was rather loose, but I guess you can tighten it down with the ring below and not it locks up pretty tight. I also managed to find a guy over at Uzitalk selling the IMI elongated ported micro uzi barrels.
So here it is:
My goal was to create a PCC in a very compact package, and this is about as small as I can do it. Owning a full size IMI uzi, I found that I preferred the uzi setup to others for its crisp short reset trigger, utter tank like reliability and ease of maintenance. There are a ton of aftermarket parts and cheap mags making this an easy route to go. With the VFG I have 3 points of contact and can keep the weapon very close to my body. It folds up nicely into just about any attache case/ bookbag (or more specifically my maxpedition versipack).
I am still thinking about adding a rail to it but need to find out whether I want to just have a picatinny rail soldered to the top cover. Also I am not that familiar with red-dot optics, it would have to something the size of a trijicon doctor/MRD red dot so as to not obstruct the charging handle. Took it out to the range a few days ago and it runs like a champ, I had not problem getting consistent hits in quick succession at 50 yards using standard 12"x12" paper targets setup at chest level. I found that this ran alot better than my HK MP5K clone (MKE AT-94K) that I sold recently. Also due to the lighter bolt the mini-uzi will run even the low power ammunition like wolf without a problem, which I found that my IMI uzi will have often have issues with FTE due to the weight of the bolt.

Will that stock fit a full size uzi or is a micro-only type of thing?

You could put it on a full size but the length of pull would be rather short. Title II arms also makes a side folder like that for the full size uzi that is a little bit longer.

Sweet, I'll have to check it out!

Very cool! I have been bit by the UZI bug lately and sent off my SBR Form 1 last Saturday.

Took it out and ran about 500 rounds through it. Shoots great, with that lighter bolt and quick reset it acts like a little buzzsaw.

did you build it from the ground up?
If so, how hard was it?

No I did not build it from ground up, however it would not be that difficult to do.

Doing the same exact build. My IMI Pistol is on its way from the dealer. I'll start the Form 1 and gather the parts shortly thereafter. Sweet!
