This one appears to be cut down to 16" and fully floated. The stock has some half-ass bubba texture job on the for-end. Someone (not grandpa) ruined a potential collector, but it sure is fun and accurate. Tell me more about this thing please http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/eb_311/downsized_0523110956a.jpg?t=1306247240 Thanks That is the rarest of the 788s |

Just finished... Filled the rear sight with epoxy, re-tapped all holes to 8-32, cut the sights off, fit the rail, and refinished with alumahyde II. I have a set of MBUS sights on order that should finish it off nicely.
Separate thread on it... http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=48&t=345641&page=1 |

I did the same thing with my top rail. However, i went ahead and cut the thumbwhole out of it.....that completed it. Did you ad the sierra papa trigger and hammer? |

I find it aims more naturally for me with just that extra ~1/4" of height. |

j-vtol, I love the way you setup your sub-2000. I have always wanted one and I wanted to setup it up in a similar fashion. I have a Gemtech blackslide and I wanted to take off the front side, thread the barrel, and add a sight rail. How did you make your sub 2000 like that?
^Thanks. Removed front sight. The hider is permanently attached. A person interested in threading sub2000 here: thektog.org
Post pictures on both sites if you make the Gemtech work. Rock on. |

This past week there was a man hunt near me, I had no idea where the bad guy was, and neither did the cops. When my daughter arrived here from NC
I went out to meet her to insure the bad guy didn't grab her for her car. Which weapon did I take with me? I have a 5.56 AR15, a SKS, a French MAS, I picked up the 995, I know it will shoot when I want to, and hit what I want to. When my life depends on my weapon, I grab the one I trust the most for the situation. I knew if he was out there in the datk he would be with in 40 yards, so the 995 was perfect. If the threat was more than that, I would have picked the SKS. |

stormhawk, is that an SBR? Looks great, almost exactly what my wife has been looking for. How do you like the PA RDS with it? What mount did you use for the polytac?
Yes. Sbr on form 1.
The PA micro works great. Not as bright as I'd like but pretty good. I just used a spare 1" scope ring to attach the light to the left rail. I'll upgrade to something a little better once I can find a good alternative. Thinking Viking Tactics. |
