A friend called this afternoon after mounting a scout scope on a 1951 Winchester 94 (30-30) he had just shot (2) 5 shot groups under an inch with factory Fusion 170 grain ammunition. This friend has a boat load of these pre 64s and it surprising how many of these guns shoot rather well.

My 1921 .32 win spec isn't quite that accurate, but it's proven to be minute of deer numerous times.
Pre 63 model 94's are sexy creatures.

They have been long range guns for over 100 years. Good set of sights and it is pretty impressive what you can accomplish. With a scope I dont think they give up much to any production gun of the era

My 1956 Model 94 in .30-30 will shoot 5 shot 1.5" groups at 100 yards with a Lyman No 2 tang sight.

I have a 1973 Model 94 in .30-30 that is more of a 2" gun with a Marbles Tang sight.

I have a 1978 Big Bore 94 in .375 Win that shoots about the same.

I have a Model 94 and a pair of Model 92 clones in .45 Colt that are 6-8" guns at 100 yards.
