Anyone buy a Marlin under the NEW ownership?

If so, please post pics!

I'd like to see what the quality is..

(I'm sure I'm not the only one who's like to see what they now look like!)

Thanks!

From the pics Ive seen and the ones I've seen in person the quality is pretty abysmal.

I've seen pictures of the rear sight dovetail that looked like someone used a hacksaw on it.

I have one in 357.  Other than the mag tube being loose, it was solid.

I'm not a fan of the entry level 336.

Having said that, the new 45-70 I handled was one sweet puppy.

I picked up a new 1894 in .44mag and it looked very good. I almost bought it but I'm kinda cheap and am trying to find a used model and save a few bucks, however I dont think thats gonna happen, they are few and far between.

Me thinks the used ones will comand the same cash (or more) than new ones.

Especially the "Like new" ones......

(I have a M1894 from 1997-98 with less than 100 rounds thru it..like new...)

Remington has admitted to problems with their Marlins and have ceased production until they get it worked out.  Apparently the Marlin tooling was old which caused a lot of hand fitting of the parts to make the rifles work right.  Remington moved the old tooling but not the old people with the know-how to get them to work.

At least Remington has been honest about the problems and are working on a permanent solution.  Hopefully, they get it figured out soon, because the lack of new Marlins in the market has created a shortage of affordable CAS (cowboy action shooting) rifles.

I have no complaints with my 1895 SBL 45-70... fit finish and function are all supurb ... it was built in 2011. This gun is a BLAST to shoot! I ended up putting a Leupold Scout scope on the factory installed rail with a set of Leupold QD rings which is a perfect combo for this gun IMO

Good to hear.  I bought one last year, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.  The build quality appears excellent and the action is very smooth.  Congrats on your sweet rifle!
