I have been looking around for one for a while, even offered 1200 to a guy for one, but he declined. They are a nice and handy rifle. My friend has the 30/30 version, and it is his go to gun for his deer lease, even though he owns a gun shop, with a rather large personal collection as well, that alone speaks well of it. Since I can not find one, I am going to order a co-pilot from WWG Alaska, probably in the 50 Alaskan caliber too. If you decide to get a STP I think you will be happy with it, if you can find one.

Where in Texas?  Last week Lone Star Guns in Weatherford had an 1895 STBL.

Like this one ...

I have a 1895SDT which is basically the same gun but with a straight stock and a slightly shorter magazine tube.  Otherwise it is identical to the STP but but came out the year before.  Both were restricted to only 500 units so are pretty hard to come by.  Good luck finding the STP, the last several I've seen went for big bucks on gunbroker.
