I've moved around a bit since I graduated high school (nine years ago).  All over the country.  All the while, my dad was keeping my Marlin 336 30-30 for me (he gave me the gun, and it's probably 15-20 years older than me).  I finally have settled in on a place and got my lever gun from my dad.  Problem is, the front sight is missing.  It still has the scope it had when my dad gave me the gun.  Nothing on the front end of the barrel at all.

Anyone know where I can buy a complete front sight?  It had the kind that had the metal cover over the post.  There are two holes in the barrel I assume are what the sight attached to.

Brownells has them (The entire assembly is near the bottom of the page):

I was thinking on getting one of these for my Marlin 1895.....at $75.00, it is a little pricey:

I usually get my spare parts from Numrich but the part your missing is a fairly common item. You can do a web search and decide which dealer is best for you. Between the base and sight it shouldn't be more than about 15 clams. A front sight pusher is nice to have but not necessary if you support it properly and take your time.

Look for a gunsmith around where you live to see if you can find one that was taken off a rifle when it was scoped.
