| Think its what I want, be able to take a whitetail and hang with black bears? Is it big enough for that? How's the range? How's reloading? It will be my first lever action. Well besides my winchester 22mag I got when I was 12. |

308 Marlin Express is ballistically almost identical to 308 Winchester. It should work fine for black bear.
Take it with a grain of salt, as I've never shot a black bear with a 308 Winchester or Marlin Express. The ballistics, however, suggest that it will work fine. |
