Sweet !
The Rossi Puma is a great rifle, and I'll always miss mine.

I hope the Puma continues to be a great rifle now that Legacy Sports has transferred production to Chiappa, an Italian company.

16" .357/38

I want to pop the safety out, plug it, drill and tap the plug, and stick a skinner peep sight in it.

Here's my favorite lever action I've ever owned.

Here it is after a job well done.

Mine is a Puma 92 20" stainless and I couldn't be happier with it.  I use Hornady's 240gr HP-XTP in it over H110 and I get great accuracy.

Is that scabbard from CTD?

I was thinking about one of those but wasn't sure about the fit.

That's exactly where it came from and it fits awesome!  I just wish there was a snap or something to kind of lock it in.

Here are some more pictures of both my 92's.

I recently won the blued XP on gunbroker for $365 and I couldn't believe it.  Around here the only place in town with one is almsot $600 by the time you get out the door and mine ended up around $415 after shipping & FFL fees.  I like these rifles, and hopefully my next one will be like the first picture on this thread.  I really like the longer barrels with the tang sights.  If these rifles were made in America, they would be perfect.

Great looking picture.  I wish I was good at composition. This is my latest try.

Give Steve Young, aka 'Nate Kiowa Jones' of Steve's Gunz a call and he can help you slick up the action.  He sells a DVD that explains step by step how to take it apart, clean it, and then perform a slick action job.  You don't need to be a gunsmith or have fancy tools.  I just got the DVD, a lighter ejector spring, metal mag follower to replace the plastic one, and his metal plug to replace that stupid bolt safety.

Working the rest of the action pieces (trigger, hammer, loading gate, and mag springs along with lightening the extractor, replacing the 'safety', and smoothing up the bolt action) are clearly explained in his video so you can rework them yourself.  As I said, all are easy and the difference is absolutely stunning.  My action is as slick as a Henry .22 lever and my trigger is right at 3 lbs with little creep and a pretty crisp break.  The difference in the before and after is astounding!

And best of all, if you have any problems he's a great guy to talk with and can get you through any issues you have, just call him.

I was going to pick up one of those scabbards at the last gun show for my 16" Puma but I ran out of money after buying reloading components. He was selling them for $25 for the solid colored ones.

I was updating my insurance pics, and on the wood guns I won't put them down on the ground so I grabbed that jacket on the way out.  I had just cleaned out my truck so I threw the catch rope down there to keep the barrel off the pavement.  It just worked out.

I got that rifle used and I want it worked over.  That safety is Number One on the list.  The follower looks like a big yellow Crayola got stuck in there.
I'll check him out.

Might just have to do that.
