I have the option of using 2x8TB WD Red drives or 2x6TB HGST He6 drives.

I will be running RAID 0 (or Simple mode in 2012 Server with Storage Spaces) either way since I want the space and if I lose the array it isn't a big deal.

With my current 9 camera setup I am looking at recording about 340TB a year.  The WD Red's are rated at 180TB/year while the He6 drives are rated at 550TB/year so I am wondering if I should just give up a little storage and go with the He6 drives?
