I'll be putting my safe/RSC in a basement corner of two foundation walls. Is there a "better" way to position it? Catty-corner vs against both walls? Close to the walls or far away? Briefly thinking about this, I would imagine leaving it off the wall on each side about a foot would make a burglar lose leverage if trying to pry using a wall. Just wanted some opinions before I move it into place and bolt it down.

A dude with a pry bar is one thing but leave too much room and they can fit a hydraulic jack in there instead.  I would put it against the wall and do what you can to protect the other side and top.

Latch side directly up against the wall (IE, right-hand hinge safe should have a wall directly to the left and left-hand hinge safe should have one to the right). This is so there is no space to work a standard pry-bar on the door.

I think the way to go is to bolt it to both the floor and wall if possible. Many safes only have pre-drilled holes in the floor, so you'd have to drill out more holes in the side and or back. I did this.

I also built it into a closet with wood framing on the side that wasn't concrete. My safe is hidden, and covered on all sides. The idea is that it would take someone a while to find it, then peel off the wood frame, then attempt to pry it or cut it. It would be hard to know it over, since it is bolted on three sides.

I have no idea why people would put their safe in plain view.

Drilling Additional holes may detract from fire rating.
