Anybody have one? I need something for the nightstand as I have a son who is almost 1 year old. If I'm not carrying it needs to be locked up. Aside from the stuff in the big safe I just need something for the night stand.
I like that it uses a finger print even though most on here are against it. It's fast. I like that it uses batteries and can be plugged in to the wall for backup power. Also, they use a key if those two fail. So multiple backups. They make a couple sizes I believe. I like the bigger one for backup mags or whatever. |

We (me and the wife) like the gunvault line. We use the finger pad code versions with primary AC power and battery backup. I use the the steel cables and tether them to the bed. They work great for qucik access hanguns. We have one downstairs and one upstairs. The size we have fits a fullsize handgun with weapon light attached and room for a spare mag. I use a mechanical version in my car, works great and had it for several years now. It gets open and locked a lot every week. And before some moron comes in here yapping about how all these can be defeated with a hammer or a laptop or whatever, everyone already fucking knows. They are quick access safes not plate steel vaults, go back to your moms basement. I think the model we have is the GV1000S (no finger scan), you have to order the steel tether cable separately. One is the older model that uses the AA batteries (about 5yrs old) and the other is the updated with the 9v (about 2yrs old). The manual Box I use in the car is about 2yrs old. I would not hesitate to buy any of them again. There are plenty of other brands out there that are very similar. I got the second two because we had a baby and her at 2yrs old now gets into everything. Overall they provide a great additional layer of security and safety, while keeping a firearm within quick and easy access. |
