I'm running out of space in my safe, and as a cost effective solution I was thinking of putting my Mosins, etc on a gun rack in the room.
I saw a magnetic fake wood one by Sportsman's Guide I think... Something similar to that. Any suggestions? $200 on the high end (something real nice) but $60-$100 is the sweet spot. |

I built a 10 gun gun rack using about $20 worth of oak and hardware. 1x2x8 oak and 1/2" oak dowels. Tapered the dowels and glued them into holes drilled into the 1x2 at a slight angle. Then used butterfly hardware to attach it to the wall. It was rock solid and looked pretty good. You can adjust the gap between dowels to get more or fewer firearms on the mount to suit your tastes as well. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j254/kalski/The%20gun%20rack/Picture_0429.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j254/kalski/The%20gun%20rack/Picture_0431.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j254/kalski/The%20gun%20rack/Picture_0430.jpg Never thought of building one! Yours looks awesome. |

If you have space for a blind alcove behind a painting, mirror, etc. you could use an inexpensive rotating rack for "hide in plain sight" with decent access... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/HardShell/RWB%20-%20Safes%20and%20Storage/Mirror%202_zpsbngnhusn.jpg Just one option. Nice! |

I just ordered some from here because I don't want to spend the time to build my own. |
