Hi all,
Like many here I am in search of an affordable RSC. My criteria? 1) ~$2000 2) 72x40x28 3) 1 hour fire rating 4) External hinges.....maybe internal if everything else looks good 5) Ability to bolt down 4 corners 6) I like the electronic direct drive lock 7) Fully welded cabinet I realize I am asking for alot but I have found some of these features on products for less, but am willing to spend more for most of these. I really liked the Winchesters but then I found out that they are stitch welded. Is this a make or break deal for most of you? Thanks in advance for all advice given |

I went with an 11 gauge Liberty Lincoln at $2500. If I had it all to do over again, I would get a Browning for the same price or upgrade to an AMSEC. My next safe will be a small closet sized AMSEC. |

thanks for the replies....keep em coming.
Platte....what reasons would you have to switch to a Browning or the Amsec from the Liberty? I have looked at the Franklin 25 or the Timber Ridge 64. They meet most of the criteria and seem to be well made. Has anybody heard of specifis issues? Thanks |

You're about $1,500 shy of a good safe in that size. I have one of these: and one of these: The smaller one is close to your budget. I really like both of mine. |

Thanks I like the Browning interior better than any other safe, and the security level is the same as the Liberty. Browning also has external hinges. Amsec is better for both security and fire protection. Recently, they added a model that fits in a space that I have that is hidden from visitors, invited or not. I think that is the way I will go, but its a small safe, 24 wide and 21 deep. |
