Anyone have a Fatboy Jr safe?  How to you like them?

I have one, lots of bang for the buck, it looks great and it is made in the USA.  The interior is a step up from the cannon safes in the same price range but you will get a few less standard features like electrical ports and door pockets.  If you only need it to keep children or the casual thief out they are great.

I like mine, picked it up in a labor day sale, good value for the money.

That particular Liberty safe is made in the USA, which is a good thing too.

I believe lowes sells the fatboy... Go to lowes.com and fill out their moving form and they will send you a 10% off coupon.

50-140,. Sorry, it looks like I accidentally stole your avatar, I found it on google... I'll get that changed :)

I have 2 of them. Wouldn't have bought a second one if I didn't like the first one.

I have one as well, I like it well enough. I am starting to run out of room, I will probably go with the Fat Boy this time......

The fat boy at lowes and the fat boy on the Liberty web site are 2 different safes. I am not sure what the difference is, they are both made by liberty, but the lowes model is labeled a Centurion, and the other is labeled Liberty. It might be just a big box store variant.

Centurion is the line of safes at Liberty. There is the Centurion Fat Boy Jr. , and the other (Fatboy) is maybe colonial or franklin iirc.

I realize that the centurion is a line of safes by Liberty. I currently own a centurion ( not the Fatboy Jr). The Fatboy Jr at lowes is clearly marked Centurion. The Fatboy Jr at Liberty is clearly marked Liberty, not Centurion.

The Fatboy Jr at Liberty is the Colonial line. The Fatboy at Liberty is the Franklin line. The Fatboy jr. at Lowes is the Centurion line.

I did a little more digging. It seems the the big box stores get a cheaper interior in the Fatboy Jr.. Other than that, it's the same safe. The colonial line uses better quality materials. It seems there is even one branded as a Remington Fatboy Jr..

The FATBOY is equivalent to the Franklin Series, while the FATBOY Jr. is equivalent to the Colonial series. You can add additional accessory adds on to the FATBOY Jr safe to make it similar in upgrades, but the FATBOY is deeper, has 15 minutes more fire and beefier security features of the DX-90 Monster Mech which includes thicker steel.

Yeah, I think they have the Fatboy Jr. just to get you into the store.  The Fatboy is much more safe for a little more money.

Why would you go with a Jr, instead of the fatboy, unless it was a concern with where it was going to fit.

Generally they are an order of magnitude cheaper in the safe world. 1000-1200 for the jr, 1700 plus for the fatboy. At that price you start looking at much better 2000-2500 safes.

The Fatboy Jr I bought from Lowes is not marked 'Centurion' anywhere on it.

Its a great safe any way you look at it. I'll buy another when I move.

About $800, and in my case ordering from Lowes instead of the local dealer who gave me the run around on whether or not they had the Fatboy.

The fatboy jr. I ordered from Lowes is also marked Liberty.  From what I've read it's a crap shoot whether you get a centurion branded on or liberty branded.

Be sure to call your local store and talk to them about delivering it. I visited the store after they I ordered it online to talk with the delivery manger to be sure they'd be able to install it, they said they could. Well a week later when it shows up they get cold feet and say it's too big to bring in the house and they didn't have a dolly that would handle it

They ended up putting it in my garage and I rented an appliance dolly and moved it in with some help from some friends. I just moved this past weekend and ended up not being able to move the safe because the dolly we had was crap. So now I've got to rent another truck and dolly in a few weekends and bribe some friends to get it moved.

Overall I'm happy with the safe and would recommend it.

Anyone know the real difference between the Lowes Centurion FBjr
and the Liberty FBjr?  Getting ready to pull the trigger on another
FBjr and if all things are semi-equal, I can save about 140 bucks
with the Centurion.

Go to the Lowes page and look at past review. You will find info from a Liberty tech. all about them. They are the same safe.
