I just moved to a new home and want to install cameras. I like the prices but would like to hear from anyone with personal experience. A couple questions if anyone can answer: Can you add wireless cameras to the Pro 8ch smart? Which cameras are the best for outdoors? What is coaching Imenu? Why is it with a cheaper system? How do I set my TV to tune in the security system? I am open to other system suggestions. Thanks |

Thanks The Pro 8ch smart is a analog system, to add wireless you would have to have a wireless receiver for each channel at the dvr, the frame rate does not look that good and the cameras use 1/3" CMOS. In the industry we refer to CMOS as Cant Make Out Shit To see the DVR on a TV you would have to hard wire from the output of the DVR to a input on the TV |

Looks very comparable to the junky kits that you get at costco, sam's for 2-$400. IP cameras are the way of the future. You'll likely want to run CAT5 to the end points, but once thats done most any future cameras will work. What system or components should I buy? |

I wish I knew the answer because I am struggling with it. Just like anything else, they are transitioning from analog CCTV cameras to digital ip cameras. Ip cameras support power over Ethernet generally. You'll simply have one cat 5 running to each camera.
I think it would be foolish at this point to invest any time or money in analog. Analog can be plenty high quality but we know within a few years it'll be phased out. Ip cameras start out around 100-150 per camera. Costco and sams have. 4 camera kits with a network video recorder for 6-800. I've asked several times in here about those kits and no one has any experience. |

Analog will be around a long time for the simple reason of price IP is making leaps and bounds but the 100-150 per camera stuff at the box stores is still the "cheap" cameras only in digital rather than analog. As far as NVR's I LOVE the NUUO line (IP) and cameras really are a case by case basis. A single camera will not always fit the bill. There are a lot of factors to determine in selecting a camera. FWIW I have been installing cameras for seven plus years. |
