I have decided that I would like to install a (3) wired camera system near the doors of my home. I have the cameras picked out, but I was hoping I could get some assistance going over my pending install.

My plan was to buy and install Cat6 cable through the attic to the 3 cameras (this supplies power and video correct?). I was hoping to run the wires to a storage area in the attic, where I could then make these wired cameras wireless and thus question #1;

-How do I go about making these camera wireless at that point, a router?

I was then hoping that I could wirelessly set this up to a tablet android based PC, dedicated to the cameras. If this works, then the tablet could be used from any room in the house and thus question #2;

-Assuming any of this is possible, what software would be used in an android based system, to monitor all (3) cameras at the exact same time on the screen? I will note here that I could care less about recording capability.

I appreciate any help I may receive!

You're thinking more along the lines of IP cameras.

Those point back to your router. Wireless would be easier.

Then view them on whatever.

Still would need a pc or something to store the images.

Thanks for the reply. I have been looking at IP cameras, but I do not like the idea of a visible antenna

. I am simply wondering if I can buy 2-3 wired cameras, run CAT6 to each of them, run the CAT6 to a wireless router of some sort, and monitor them through a home WIFI type network?

Yes you can.

The IP cameras will most likely come with software that allows you view the camera image, and most will let you view multiple cameras at once.  It'll typically be HTTP-based, so all you need is a browser to access the cameras.

ETA: it sounds like you don't yet have a home wireless network/router set up.  If that's the case, you'll probably want to add a network switch to the mix, since the router itself will usually only have a few ports (jacks) available.  Run the cameras to the switch, then one cable from the switch to the router.

You want IP cameras and a wireless AP on the same network.

It's what I did at my house.
