I'm kind of limited in my price's and selection here ( just bought a new house ). My guns have been locked up either at work, or in my friends safe. The safe will be going in a locked room in the basement that is fairly secure, and if you're not looking for it you will walk right past it. I was going to do build an armory room out of this room originally, but I fell as if I won't ever get around to it now. Opinions on the safes are appreciated. The Winchester is a tad out of the price range with shipping, but I might be able to convince the wife.

EDIT : The house is alarmed, with 2 German Shepherds. Burglaries in this area that I've seen in my 10 year career have been Door kick ins, and ransacking of bedrooms. Police response time within minutes. The only houses that get thoroughly gone through are un-alarmed.

I would go with a mechanical lock, which only the liberty from lowes comes with. It'll be tight inside though.

Any reason for the mechanical lock preference ? Seems as if the Liberty got the lowest reviews though.

Less things to go wrong in a mechanical. God forbid an electronic lock gets wet and shorts out.

If I could go up to that price range, I would not be looking at Centurions..... Wish I had the money !

Its 1199 plus tax/shipping. If you think you will have 30 guns I'd wait a month or two and get the fatboy. You can get a 10% off lowes coupon at the post ofice by requesting a new movers package.

Yup the 10% off then another 5% with a lowes card puts it about $1012.
I picked mine up with the help of good friends.

I would go with the Winchester. I have one and love it.
No problems what so ever.
