Does anybody have a Sturdy 2723?

Seriously looking at a non-fire lined with interior #2 w/ side.  How many long rifles could I really expect to hold inside of it?

Any additional thoughts on one of Sturdy's smallest offerings?

If you're putting rifles with scopes/pistol grips in there I'd say about 18 max.I've got a Sturdy 40w 24d 72h (non fire)and with my interior layout I could get 25-30.It probably has 40 spots but to put a weapon in each one they would be jammed up against each other.Scopes/pistol grips take up a lot of room.

I bought my Sturdy years ago before they became so well known and I couldn't be happier. It took me about 6 mths to save up the money in my toy fund so I had plenty of time to do research and I thought Sturdy was the best bang for your buck.I went out on a limb because Sturdy was kind of unknown back then but I was thilled when I got it.

Fit was excellant,my biggest gap you couldn't get a nickel in.If you can't even get a pry bar started how are you going to pry it open?I cringe at the 1/2,3/4 in gaps I see on safes at Bass Pro,Gander etc.For the price range Sturdy had the thickest body to prevent saw attacks.

Finish, well it's not going to win any beauty contests. It's an industrial type coating.Which is fine with me.It's a safe sitting in my closet not a piece of furniture in the family room.My Sturdy was some of the best money I ever spent.

Huge ++1 on the door fit compared to other safes. I was at Bass Pro the other day and couldnt believe the huge door gaps that all the big name safes had.

I was hoping to hear it was at least 1/2 the advertised number of long guns, and it sounds like that's the case.  Thanks!

Do any of the Sturdy sages ever go on sale or get discounted?

Give them a call.  Sometimes they have scratch and dent safes in stock at a discount.

IMO The 32X24 would be as small as I would go, unless you only have a few rifles and never plan on buying more.

Here are some pics before and after I fired lined it, and added the interior. Now I have 8 rifles in it, and its pretty full, of course I could remove the ammo cans and shelf to allow more as I have cut the safe in half.

Have a Sturdy 2723, it is firelined. Stack em correctly and fitting 20 long guns in there isn't a problem. Got it as it fits nicely into the closet and is "out of sight, out of mind" - exactly what was looking for. Only "problem" is getting a 91/30 in there is a real PITA as the shelf has to be too high to be of much use. A TL/RL safe it is not, but for an RSC it is awesome!

That's a 3224?? Any chance someone has pics of a 2723 interior without the fire lining? I'd like to place my handguns on the top shelf and jam some magazines onto the side shelves... but how much room would that even leave me for rifles?

This guy does a video review of a 2723 with a #2. It is firelined but non firelined gets 4" more useable width, so figure one more row for guns maybe? He actually opens the safe around the 6 min mark.

Just pulled the trigger on the Sturdy 2723, firelined 4 Gauge upgrade option. For slightly over 2K it seemed like the best option. The 4 gauge and 3/8 door upgrade was only $200. That seemed like a no brainer. My second choice would h I thought the ceramic material plus the 14 gauge liner was a big plus.ad been the Liberty Frankln from Lowes for around $1369 delivered. It's a prettier safe, but like Donlad Sutherland says in the Dirty Dozen when inspecting the troops "very pretty, but can they fight?":-) Also couldn't get over the use of sheetrock for fire protection.

I was torn on whether spending the additional money as I will also be covered by homeowners insurance which is cheap $67 f(20K coverage) or guns insured as antiques. I think the Franklin would do a fine job against the snatch and grab guy, but wanted something that would buy me some more time if I wasn't home although most of the time I will have a big dog who loves to sleep in my office where the safe will go:-)

I appreciate the advice provided on this and other forums which open my eyes on these RSCs.

I don't expect to need a lot of room as the guns I will add are higher end collectables so I won't be buying them on a regular basis:-)

Yeah it's not pretty, but maybe I'll get a pinstripper to come over to pretty it up. LOL

Dd you use the Sturdy fire lining kit? If not, what fire lining material(s) dd you use? If safe came from Sturdy with no rack, did they give you any credit for no rack?
