| My father has always complained about his safe being poorly lit. I was thinking of fixing that problem as part of Christmas this year. Something bright, but it would have to be battery powered since he doesn't have electrical run to his safe. I was thinking something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Flexible-LED-Transformer-Ledwholesalers-2026WW-Kit/dp/B004RZQAOE/ref=pd_sim_hi_8 but I can't find a battery pack which I know would work with it. Any help from the hive? Thanks |

I just installed a $15 LED lampbar in my safe.
G.E., six AA batteries, with a wireless remote switch. Not super bright but it works well. http://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-6-LED-Utility-Remote-Controlled-Light-White/16561412

I recently bought some from a guy I found through the Calguns.net forum. So far I'm very happy. The kit is a little less polished then what I've seen elsewhere. But if you're mounting behind the frame of the safe you shouldn't see them so who cares.

Saw this guy on calguns and met him at a local gunshow.
Real nice kit IMO if you don't want to put too much effort or want some custom colors. I heard he s a little slow on shipping, but he does deliver. Real good gentleman in person and always attempts to resolve any issues. THe LEDs are bright as balls with both the battery pack and the ac adapter. Because the safe had inherent carpeting, I just ran the LED strips along the sides and corners. Took less than 5 minutes to lay out everything the way i wanted. Looked great in the end. |
