How do I find out the make and model of the safe when the only labels on are UL certification labels?

You probably won't.  One would think that the number on the UL tag could be easily traced, but such is not the case in most situations.

Do you have any photos of the safe?

I've email them to our resident expert.

So why post the question?

I'm assuming the resident expert can provide you with a quick and accurate ID.

I bet if you post a photo or two, you'll get a fairly quick answer.

If the safe is a gun safe, and has a UL label, it narrows it down to a fairly small pool of possibilities.

He emailed me hours ago, and I already got back to him about it hours ago. I don't appreciate the bad mouthing, and I am not going to participate in conversations on here that get off track from the forum thread questions or conversations.

Diebold is interesting, because they are the only manufacturer that has their own techs spread out all over the country.

The short answer is yes, they would probably service it if you wanted to pay them to do it.  Most of what they do is contract work for banks.  Then again, just about any competent tech should be able to deal with it as well, and they would probably charge you less.

You can always go here:  http://www.savta.org/savta_tech.php, or here:  http://www.clearstar.com/yellform.htm to find a tech in your area.

Not bad mouthing anybody.  Didn't know you or anyone else was the "resident expert" here.  What I do know is that there is alot of misinformation spread throughout this forum regarding so called "safes".  I also know from other sources, that a1abdj is in fact a real safe and vault expert, who has been getting some flak for speaking the truth that some don't want to hear on this forum.  As someone who was going on locksmith jobs with my dad at age 5, I can appreciate the expertise that he's offered and hope that others will recognize the resource that they have.

There has never been any disolution being spread throughout the security forum. That is why a good majority of the members before he even ever got here have asked about how to find used TL rated safes. There has been a ton of inquiies for a while about safes that people had tracked down in classifieds, and on CL.
