hey whats up everyone. i found a local safe shop and gave him a call to chat about safes. he told me i needed to look at certain things, size and fire rating. i told him it would be going up to a second floor so i couldnt get anything that wouldnt go up the stairs. we started chatting about different makes and models and the benefits. we finally ended looking at the american security SF6030 and the SF 6032. just wanted some honest opinions on these models. the links to his page and price on linked below. thanks guys

From what Ive read, I believe the BF series is what you want to go with from AMSEC

Yeah that is nice but kinda of out my price range. |

Then I would go with this safe if you want to stay in that price range.
http://www.sturdysafe.com/model3224.htm Cant help with an opinion on the safe you posted about because like I said Ive heard if you want to go with AMSEC for a gun safe then BF series is the way to go. But between the safe you have listed and the safe I just posted above, I think many would agree that the Sturdy is the better deal between the two for your price range. |

I do understand what you are saying. I did look at sturdy. Is the size of the sturdy safe the size of the two safes I posted about? I also know that you need to pay extra for the fire insulation for the sturdy safe. |
| I have an Am-Sec BF6636 and am very happy, quality product, smooth locking mechanism, and nice interior. I imagine the SF series is just made from lighter gage materials and is just as high quality as far as locking mechanisms and interior finish. Carting a BF safe up stairs would be a pain in the ass, they weigh twice as much as the SF safes. |
