I got a Winchester Supreme safe (I know, I know) last year and found out the hard way that regular safes are not meant to hold a large number of AR type weapons due to thier unusual dimensions. Long story short, my safe overfloweth. Is there a safe designed to store ARs so I can sell the Winchester and buy it or should I just suck it up and buy another safe?

Well played sir, well played indeed.

Where would I go about acquiring such a fine piece of equipment, and about how much would one cost?

I think the last auction about 5 went for around $1500.  They were close to me.

Don't know how often they come up, just search the site.  Mosler was the manufacturer.

There isn't really one designed for AR's. The best thing to do is make a custome rifle rack for the safe.

That weapons rack would be perfect. Maybe with some fireproofing, but good enough.

Does anyone have any experience with the browning "tactical" series? It says made for "tactical" weapons, but it screams marketing ploy.

Still, a narrow but deep safe would work if I could make a rack like that.

The AR safe is better than a standard safe for AR's, but still not all that great.

It sounds like you might have one. How many ars can you fit in the browning safe?

I sell them.

Almost as many AR's fit in it as any other safe would allow room for. The only place the fit well is sideways on the door if it has a collapsible stock.

The Winchester safe I bought fit about 1 Ar for every 3 rifles it advertised it would hold. That was kind of disappointing.

As a person who sells safes, what would you recommend? The weapons locker looks awesome, its a matter of finding it. And fireproofing....

I made my own gun rack for my safe. I even modified my top shelf for my really long guns to fit.

Here is another option for this type of safe...... it's called a "State Department Rack"  it gives you a full side for long guns and plenty of room on the other for pistols, ammo cans and just about anything else you can think of.

These guns were used for simunitions and blanks.... thus the colors... yellow was laser.
