My Sturdysafe was just dropped off Wednesday.  I have her in place, and bolted down.  Since I chose to go with a non pre-drilled, I was looking into cordless moisture control and came across Eva-Dry.  Seems like a good simple and reusable way to keep moisture to a minimum.  Thoughts and experiences, discuss.

I got one, probably for the same reasons you find it appealing. Have it my small gun safe, and ... well ... I think it working, but so far have not had to plug it in to dry it out. Looking forward to whatever else anyone has to say about them.

They are very widely accepted on this site as a good dessicant to use in a safe.  I'd reccommend getting the larger E-500 size.  It's only a few bucks more and will need recharged less often.  I found the best deals on them at Amazon.

Congrats on the new Sturdy Madpay. I use a Eva Dry but more as a back up. My primary de-humidification is done with those cheap closet desiccant packs you find at Walmart for around 4 bucks; they work great.

I use one in conjunction with a golden rod.  They work well.

i have two of the minis for my gun safe.  I recomend 2 or 3 of them for one gun safe... you can go months before recharging them.

buy at amazon, good deals there. plus free shipping and no tax

The packs work great, but had to be recharged more than I liked. I now have a goldenrod and one of the Evadry mini dehumidifiers. The dehumidifier works but the power supplies it comes with are shit. I've had to replace them on both units I own.

I have the large Evadry in a large Sturdy with fire liner. It sits in the basement. I have not had to charge it yet in the 4 months I have had it. I open the safe at least once a day and usually 3 times. Most days it sits open for at least 4 hours so lots of air moves in and out of the safe.

I had a goldenrod in my old Liberty. I never had anything rust.
