Any thoughts on a 4500lb TL15 Plate Safe anchored to a concrete floor?
Anyone try to break or cut into one of these??
Any tips on retrofitting the interior for Red Ryder BB Guns???

I assume the plates are hardened high carbon tool steel or something similar.

A plate safe maximizes interior volume.

Security should be top of the line.
Perhaps fire resistance could be better, but 1.25-inch thick plate steel can soak up alot of energy before it gets hot.  Worst case, boiler gasket could be added to the door and a firerock enclosure built around it or glued to the interior.

I'd say it depends on the total price that it will take you to get it where you want (fireproofing etc)

TL15 is an order of magnitude better than a RSC in my opinion.

I wouldn't count on the fire protection at all from just steel.  Yes, it is thick and would soak up energy, but so is my crock pot, and it is used FOR cooking in the inside of it.

If it is cheap, definitely get it and fix it for fireproofing.  Your red ryders will be much better off.

Let us know how it comes out.

I was told a safe this weight does not need to be anchored.
How close is the Fire Dept ? How fire resistant is the room ? Close to the kitchen which is the source for many/most home fires ?
Put a plastic pail full of water on top for a last ditch extinguisher
I guess a sheetrock interior would work. Hell, thats what most manufacturers get away with.

I plan on using a composite TL series with flat shelves and using a rifle rod system for maximum quantity and ease.

Unless you're keeping millions of dollars worth of crap in that thing there's NO need to fasten that monster down. You'll relize this quickly if you're involved in setting it in place . Even a 1000lbs safe (empty) has no need of being fastened down, loaded with ammo and guns it would be near impossible to move out of the interior of a house in any kind of reasonable time frame (theft). If you don't mind, how much you picking that up for? I'd take that in a sec for a good price.
