So I was looking at Goldenrod's online to put in the gun safe but I am wondering how I would run the cord since I have the safe bolted to the garage floor. Any suggestions? or should I just got with a battery operated dehumidifier?

The plug is removeable so you only need a hole the size of the wire and most safes have punch out hole in the back.

Bingo!!! I have been using the rod for 20 years. I can't believe it has lasted that long. My safe is in a basement room that also has our Hot Tub in it, so high humidity. I have a dehumidifier for the room, and the golden rod in the safe and never a spec of rust or corrosion on anything in the safe.

I just installed one of these today and the only question I had was if there had ever been a problem with them starting on fire? Or shorting out?

The plug just seemed kind of rinky dink to me..
