What do you use to keep moisture out of your safe? I've looked at a golden rod and at the rechargeable mini dehumidifiers.  Not sure what is the better option.  My safe already has outlets inside so running a power cord would be no problem.  Any suggestions?

I run the rechargeable dehumidifier.  Its just a little box with crystals in it, it has a color indicator that tells you when it needs to be charge (dried), and you just plug it into the outlet for a few hours.  Easy, currently I have to recharge it about 1-2 weeks, I am planning to pick up a second to be able to go little longer without recharging.

This one is what I have.... Stackon Dehumid

eva mini dehumidifier from amazon.com  .  I have two of them in my safe.  one near guns and the other in the top  shelf.

works well,  I usually recharge them after 5 months.  goes from blue to clear to pink.   I always recharge them when it is clear.

The Goldenrod just keeps it warm in my safe.  I have some dessicant bags, but I think they've had it.  I'm going the Stack-On route or the Eva.

Go to your local shoe store and ask them if you can have the silica gel packets from the shoe boxes.  They always end up on the floor or busted up with little clear BBs all over.  I've never had a shoe store tell me no.

I just threw the packets into the bottom of the safe.  We've had no problems with moisture since.
