What I'm looking for is a large safe to store atleast 100 guns. I've seen some safes that measure 72" tall, 60" wide and 27" deep that would be perfect for what I need. What I don't know is which brand I should choose.

I'd like it to be a well made safe but I wanna keep the price at $3000 or less.

Can you guys recommend some good reputable companies that make safes in the size I need and the price I want?

Thanks.

Uh... better be looking for a bigger safe than that if you really expect to store at least 100 guns.

Well about 75 or so are long guns and the rest are pistols. I figured they would fit after looking at a couple safes that size. If you know a place with a bigger safe feel free to let me know.

There is only one safe that I know of that can handle that many guns...

An actual 100 gun safe (figure a 200 gun model, no, I'm not kidding), well made, for under 3K? Not likely to happen. You'll likely have to go custom (or used) for something that big, and either put it in the garage, or have the house built around it. It would likely be cheaper, easier, and more secure to have a walk in vault made. My 24 gun safe is stuffed, and it only has 6 rifles in it. I will probably be able to get 2 more long guns in there, and that's it. It was $1200, and is a cheaper safe by "safe" standards. It's a great RSL, but nothing else. That sturdy safe holds 65+ (whatever that means...), and in 2008, was $3024 without an interior, or fire protection. Add shipping, movers, and I assume fire protection and you'll be at 5K+ easy.

Good and under 3k in that size are going to be really really hard to find.

Summit makes 2 models that are 72x56x28 with a 3/16" body and a 3/8" plate door or a 3/4" Composite plate. For between 3k-5k depending on the dealer.

Take the gun racks out of it and use the rods from here http://www.storemoreguns.com/

He's absolutely right!  You would have to get a phenomenal deal on a used safe or get an ok deal on some cheap crap to stay within your budget.  I would look at "securing" a closet (ie. turn it into a make-shift vault) or building a vault in your house.

Some of the guys that post in this section are really sharp and have some great methods for fortifying a room, closet or area in your home.  You may want to make a post asking about that just to get some ideas of the work and costs involved.  I hope you can get lucky.
