You should see the collection now.

It was The Perfect Storm but I happened to be rescued. Unfortunately I have to start over with the collection.

This is the private collection of Reed Knight, founder and owner of KAC.  He wins at life.

Are they all pre-86 or company-property samples?

What door is that?

I don't have a whole lot to spend on a door, but currently have my collection locked in stack-on security boxes, inside my 12x12 12" concrete room.

All room and no door.  (I have a regular steel front door on there now, with deadbolts top, center, and bottom with pins on the hinge side)... Still, I need a door worthy of the room.

I'm going to roll some carpet, a fridge, and my wifi in there so I can surf arfcom with my collection at hand.

It's made by Sturdy Safe Company. www.sturdysafe.com. Very good doors and even better prices.

Wow.  That gives me more ideas for what to do with my lottery winnings.

I got an email a while back saying the first gun room was in the basement of a house that was for sale.  No, I don't believe everything in emails, but I do think it's a private collection.  There is a shooting range in the back.  At first I was puzzled as to why the targets are so small since the collection is primarily machineguns.  Then I figured on auto, you're bound to hit a few.  Yes, I see the bolt actions, but seriously, is that what you'd shoot?

The exit sign is there for people like me who wouldn't leave, claiming to be lost.

In the post above mine, what the heck is that section of sewer pipe with the white rocket on the end?

And another thing... I wanna know what the heck these guys do and if they're hiring?!

Here's a request for pages 8-12.

I think that is some sort of OD green missile launcher, with a separate white missile resting on top of it.

That is a model of an AIM-54 Phoenix air-to-air missile. A model rocket, I think, since the real ones are about eight feet long.

Well back there, seemingly in the middle of the thread and surrounded by pics, the comment looked irrelevent.  Perhaps if you said "the second half of this thread disappeared when it was transferred and, for some reason, the web-genies kept four blank pages, so don't ask", less of us would have been confused.

So far, this beats all of the other "post pics of your..." threads and has become my favorite.

No, you mean he wins at gov't contracts. Our tax dollars paid for that collection!

Incorrect.  Read up on the circumstances that lead to the acquisition of that collection.

Long story short, he designed the All American 2000 pistol, and traded the design to Colt Firearms in exchange for their entire firearms collection.  I'm pretty sure he got the better end of the deal as the All American 2000 was never a big seller.

He got a bunch of guns in other deals, he was at the MAC sale when they went under, he bought over 300 guns at that sale. He also built and or converted a number of guns himself, which I'm sure are in his collection somewhere.

I'm just starting my gun room build.  Converting one of the bedrooms.  First step was to remove the 70's popcorn cielilng and have it re-textured.  I am now masking things off and have cielings and walls to paint.  Yesterday I ordered 6 cabinets (4 floor mount and 2 wall mount).  Next week the counter top is getting ordered to go on top of the floor mount cabinets so I can mount up the loading presses. Closet doors are coming off and will hold the gun safe. I'll post pics shortly......

I just finished mine.  This has been almost 3 months in the making.  I don't have the massive collection that others have, but I like my new safe/ gun room.  This just gives me a reason to buy more toys!  It goes about 5000 lbs and has 12 grade 8 bolts, 5 " in the concrete(inside epoxy) .  Hope the pics work and I hope everyone likes it as much as I do.
