The Gun Room Picture Thread (Page 5 of 31)
| If you're asking me about cost and being modular.....I dont have it down to the penny, but if you were to do the exact same thing...about $9000. The structure alone is $6500 without shipping. It's not modular. It is one solid 4x8 piece of 1/4" steel with 2"(1/4" walled) tubular steel frame and a 1/2" base frame. It is by far more secure than any safe that I've come across, but gives you the walk-in ability of a vault. The good thing is that it can be moved if I ever relocate. |

| I'm actually just a flat foot, but thanks for the boost! It's made of steel. I didn't build the steel structure. I bought it and started from that point. I have my entire garage done up in cabinets matching that one. I made all those as well....minus the machine work and bending the diamond plate. Thanks again |

Awesome thread. Sucks about the missing pages though. If noone else has answered about who's collection OP's is. "The gun collection actually belonged to the late Bruce Stern, rather than Charlton Heston. Mr Stern was a lifelong military and gun collector. An attorney and Vietnam veteran, he was involved in a number of military and firearms related organizations. He was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) Board of Directors. Mr Stern passed away in July, 2007. The Stern gun collection became famous among firearms enthusiasts. A portion of the extensive collection was auctioned off in March 2008 by James D. Julia Auctioneers. The auction, which included firearms from other collections as well as Stern's, raised a record-breaking $12.7 million. Photographs of items from the Stern collection are available on the Julia Auctions website. Another part of the Stern collection is set to be auctioned in October, 2008." |

So the inside dimensions are 4x8? Who is the manufacturer? And BTW, that looks awesome!

The Colt guys had a company come up with the metal racking there to clean things up. Been there a few times. Yes I wash it was my room
