if I were to mount AR height sights like the Samson or the Midwest sights would they see over the top of an RMR in a low rm33 mount? I ask because if the RMR were to become obscured I'd rather look over it than try to look through it.

Doubtful. Better off getting a nice lever lock mount and plan on popping it off quickly.
