Just got back from the range with my new 556 and had 15 or so failure to fire.  I was using PMC(5 rnds out of 60) and wolf(10 rnds out of 60).  All primers were dented.  I did notice a lot of grease when I disassembled the rifle.  Is it a break in period or should I have something looked at.  By the way, all ammo fire in my AR, no FTF.

Thanks

I have two 556's. Neither one has ever had a FTF. This is in about 600 rds each.

You say they're all dented. Are the ones on the FTFs as deep as the others?

Was the disassembly you did after the FTFs?

You're supposed to clean the rifle thoroughly before you shoot it the first time. There was a pretty good initial cleaning write up over in the Sig556 forums. I haven't been over there in quite a while.

Thanks, I did not clean it before the FTF.  I will take it to the range and see what happend.  All the primers were dented like the one that fired.
